SAFE is the nation’s first pro-vaccine political advocacy organization.
Mission
SAFE (Science and Families Engaging) Communities Coalition supports pro-vaccine legislation and lawmakers. We empower everyday people to advocate for strong public health laws, fight targeted disinformation, and support vaccine confidence and equity.
Since 2O2O, SAFE has helped to establish and sustain nine Families for Vaccines chapters in states across the nation.
As a 501c4 advocacy organization and a political action committee, SAFE is the only organized bipartisan political force opposing the anti-vaccine agenda in statehouses across the country. We work closely with allies including healthcare providers, scientists, nonprofits, industry partners, advocates for children and health, and legislators to go the final mile in pro-vaccine advocacy.
Together, we recruit and train the pro-vaccine majority to stand on the shoulders of the experts, educating lawmakers about the imperative to protect public health.

We consider the impact of our actions on all communities, including the most marginalized people in society: people of color, indigenous people, the working class, women, LGBTQ+ people, and people who are medically vulnerable.

Today, there are thousands of anti-vaccine bills being introduced in State Houses across the nation. The anti-vaccine activist organizations driving the influx of misinformation are long-established, well-funded, and deeply connected to key lawmakers.
We need the pro-vaccine majority to speak up now more than ever. SAFE’s Families for Vaccines chapters work to identify, engage, train, and empower everyday people who can stand as crucial defenders of public health. Together, we’re counteracting the harmful narratives that threaten our health, our communities, and our democracy. Our message is simple: Vaccines save lives, and we deserve laws that protect our lives and livelihoods.
