SAFE Action Fund values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Statement outlines the types of information we collect, how we use it, and the measures we take to ensure your information remains secure.

This Privacy Policy is offered by SAFE Action Fund and SAFE Communities Coalition, including our grassroots Families for Vaccines chapters and their related organizations (collectively “SAFE” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to describe the information collection, use, and disclosure practices of our websites (“Sites”) that link to this Privacy Policy as well as for the information that we receive through other channels including by email, postal mail, or in person.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and other contact details.

  • Demographic Information: Age, gender, interests, legislative district, and other demographic data.

  • Usage Information: Information about how you use our website, services, accounts, and programs, including sign ups for calls to action, forms filled and submitted, and RSVPS for events. 

  • Donation Information: Payment information and donation history.

  • Applicant Information: If you apply for a job or volunteer position with us, we will collect any information that you provide during the application process, including your contact information, educational and work history, criminal history, and demographic information, and other information that you submit about yourself.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To communicate with you about our activities, events, and updates.

  • To process donations and send you receipts.

  • To understand your interests and preferences to better serve you.

When you participate in these features, such as by posting, commenting, saving, sharing or taking actions, the information that you provide, such as your name or username, may be available to other visitors to the Services and/or the general public.

If we or some or all of our assets are acquired by another organization, such as through a merger, acquisition, or bankruptcy, that organization will possess the information collected by us, and it will assume the rights and obligations regarding your information as described in this  Privacy Policy.

Third Party Usage 

SAFE Services may contain links to other websites or apps offered by third parties. We do not offer any guarantees regarding data collection on any linked websites, social accounts, and apps that are not operated by SAFE.

The Services may also include tools offered by third parties, such as our donations page; and social media tools or “plug-ins” from third parties, such as social networking and video streaming tools. If you create accounts with these third parties, use their tools on our Services, or otherwise interact with these third parties on the Services, the third parties may collect, use, and share such information in accordance with your account settings, including by sharing such information with the general public. These third-party partners may also provide your information to us for our own use.

Your interactions with third-party entities and your use of their features, websites, and apps are governed by the privacy notices of those third-party entities.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption, access controls, and secure servers.

You can unsubscribe from any SAFE or Families for Vaccines chapter emailing list at any time by following the instructions included within any email you receive from us. 

Residents of Colorado or Virginia 

You may be able exercise the following rights regarding personal information, subject to certain exceptions and limitations:

  • The right to confirm whether we are processing personal information about you.

  • The right to access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect and maintain about you.

  • The right to receive a portable and readily usable copy of the personal information we collect and maintain about you, to the extent feasible.

  • The right to correct inaccuracies in the personal information we have collected about you.

  • The right to request that we delete the personal information we have collected about you.

  • The right to opt out of processing personal information for the purposes of (i) targeted advertising; (ii) the sale of personal information; or (iii) profiling for decisions that have significant effects. Please note that if you opt out of certain practices, we may be unable to provide you with some services.

  • The right to withdraw consent for processing of sensitive data.

  • The right not to receive discriminatory treatment for the exercise of the above privacy rights.

If you are a Colorado resident, you may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf by designating such an agent in writing or through a power of attorney. We will require the agent to provide us with proof that you have authorized the agent to make requests on your behalf prior to accepting requests from the agent. If you have submitted a request that we have not reasonably fulfilled, you may contact us to appeal our decision by sending an email to info@safecommunitiescoalition.org

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Statement on our website and updating the date at the top.
